Came as a single from out of town. Interesting layout, kind of two different courses. True Donald Ross on the back. Unfortunately no walking rate, so just took the cart. Little quirky as you're in and out of a neighborhood almost every hole so walking wouldn't be ideal wearing down your spikes as you walk across the street. Was well kept, though seems like noone rakes the bunkers or repairs their pitch marks here. Greens were cratered.
Definitely could use some attention to cart paths, particularly on the back, and it should be more reasonable to walk it. 56 bucks in November when they're spraying the greens with blue dye seems kinda steep. Good course though.
Fun local course, easy to get to just going up high street. Better option than most the public courses around and can be more of a challenge. Conditions are very nice and they have a welcoming staff that are glad you’re there
Have always wanted to play this course. So I finally did. I will say it was a fun course. Narrow fairways. Not a bad layout. The greens were mediocre. The staff was great and worked with us on some of the pricing. We had a group of 11. Unless there is a special rate or a good time to book a tee time I probably won't go back. It was a $70 round for 18 and a cart. Not worth it by any means. It's more like a $45-55 kind of golf course.
Really long round today. For some reason they did a Shotgun start for public tee times. We had outing like times but on a regular Saturday. Food is always great. Course layout is one of my favorites. For the price (which has gone up dramatically over the years), I'd hope the greens and tee boxes to be in a little better shape. I'll review this again next time I play there because I'll definitely be back, today was just weird with the price increase, shotgun start, and subpar shape of the course.
Great golf course. It must have rained for half a day leading up to tee time, but to my surprise, the course was still in fantasic condition. Pleasantly surprised, especially with how early in the season it is. Course was immaculate all around. Staff was helpful and very friendly. I will definitely be back in the near future!
We were on hole six when a disgruntled ranger rolled up on us. At this time there was no group behind us. In fact on the previous par 3 hole the group was just getting to the Teebox on the hole when as were actually walking off the green.
And were nowhere near catching up to us or having to wait on any of their shots the previous 5 holes.
The unnecesarily rude and aggresive ranger told us while
Pointing his finger ar us “you need to play faster you’re holding up the groups the groups behind and they are complaining and everyone’s behind because of you. if you don’t finish hole number 9 by 940 AM we’re going to make you skip the 10th hole you can’t play slow.”
Meanwhile
The course is allowing fivesomes.
we started our “7:20 AM “ round at 7:36 because a twosome went off in front of us playing the black tees and we were on pace for a two hour nine holes and a four hour 18! . we actually finished our round in four hours even after the fat angry, guy did not politely ask us if we were playing at the pace of play, accused us of playing slow and threaten to take away some of the golf round. We simply played at the same pace, and finished a four hour round with another group 25 minutes and two holes behind us .
totally uncalled for , unprofessional
and inappropriate. Ruined the whole round.
I will no longer patronize this course or overpay for a round to be harassed by someone who doesnt understand how golf works because he a sad friendless obese angry old man who management is clearly afraid to counsel because identical reviews already exist.
Heres some tips :
.
Situational awareness. Courtesy. Understand the game. Just because your life didnt turn out the way you want it to dont take it out on paying customers who understand the game.
Course was not in great shape, bunkers and greens have been neglected, the owner has put more effort into Cumberland Trace, I'm sure this is due to the fact that he can't develop Delaware as he wanted, very disappointed
Course was in medium condition. Expected more for a $75 round. Play was incredibly slow. 5 hr 25 min round. Mentioned the slow pace to the staff at the turn and did not see any ranger roaming to encourage faster play.
